A health industry businessman who has helped 
support the township’s K-9 program — including acquiring a new dog last year — has donated funds to purchase a new K-9 vehicle.
“Through his continued generosity and support for the K-9 program, this year Dr. Caesar DePaço and Summit Nutritionals International Inc. ® donated additional funding to the police department to purchase a new K-9 vehicle along with all the required K-9 equipment,” Hillsborough Police Chief Paul Kaminsky said in a statement.
The vehicle is a new 2014 Ford Police Interceptor Sport Utility Vehicle, fully equipped with all the necessary accessories to safely transport K-9 Kondro, and to carry out his K-9 functions, Kaminsky said.
In 2013, DePaço and Summit Nutritionals International Inc.
donated enough funds so the Hillsborough Police could acquire and support K-9 Kondro upon the retirement of previous K-9 officer, K-9 Raider.

After five years of service helping Hillsborough police, Police K-9 Raider is calling it quits.
The German shepherd has been busy, assisting in multiple arrests for drugs over the years—in 2012 alone, Raider was involve in 16 drug investigations, four suspect searches and one incident protecting an officer.
Raider will spend his retirement with Hillsborough Police Ofc. Christopher Engelhardt.
Replacing him on the force will be a Belgian Malinois named Kondro, who began serving the department earlier this month. Kondro was acquired with funds donated by Dr. Caesar DePaco, of Summit Nutritionals International ® of Branchburg.
